Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is the next closest major airport, about a 2-hour drive. It is about a 75-minute drive from Atlantic City, approximately an hour further from the city than ACY. Since ACY is small with few flight options, most long-distance travelers fly into Philadelphia International Airport (PHL), a large airport handling most major domestic carriers. Visitors flying into town will arrive at the Atlantic City International Airport (ACY). It’s accessible from Exits 7 or 9 of the Atlantic City Expressway, about 10 miles west of the city. This small airport has one terminal served by one commercial carrier ( Spirit Airlines), and three major car rental companies ( Avis, Budget and Hertz) are available here as well.
